Every time I advertise in the Southern California on line newpaper call the recycler I get and e-mail from people who are out of state offering to pay 3 times what the item cost. In the lastest incident I put up a cell phone for 60 dollars. I got a email from a plain yahoo address from a man saying he was in England and will to pay 150 US dollars if I would rush the phone to him priority male. He even gave me a london phone number. It this some kind of scam. I can never advertise without getting these offer. It I thought they were true I would have taken them up on it by now. Is this a common scam?

It is also easier for the reader to understand the general information for the place for rent insists of being bombard by too much unnecessary information. The sentence structure of classified ads is incomplete because it is to grab the reader attention with the amount of limited amount of space. The convention of the word bathroom become “BA” and bedroom become “BR” is the standard layout among the other for rent classified ads. By following the same convention, I show that I understand standard format within the genre of classified ads to my audience.
As a writer for classified ads, I must keep in mind that a reader who is looking through the ads because he/she has a need for the items or location. By my diction choice being informal, I convey personable interaction between the writer and the reader as if I, the writer, am shouting to the reader. That is the reason for my incomplete, informal, and exclamation mark to present to the reader. I clearly wanted to mention the location of my apt in the University District so that people who are looking at this ad can get an idea of which part of Seattle that this apt is located in and if it will suit their needs.
I tried to apply that uniqueness by mentioning a meditating room. This can be a part of a walk-in closet with another door to a small quiet space for mediating. I realize Seattle has a good market for yoga and mediating, and I hope that my ad can come across that market. By understand the genre of classified ads and effectively following the format, I hope to reach out to my target audience.
