What’s the name of that internet-only bank?

Other - Business & Finance 1 Comment »
Ausitn asked:

I saw an ad online about a year ago (I think) for a bank that’s 100% internet-based. You’d do your deposits and everything online and never have to go into a branch office (as I recall). Does anyone know the NAME of that bank, so I can find them and look into them more closely?

Why Cant I get Hired?

Other - Careers & Employment 5 Comments »
Darkbutterfly asked:

I am a recent college graduate, and I have been job hunting since May. I live in a rural area, so there are not any job openings near me. I have been using online search agents, as well as newspaper classified ads to apply for jobs in other areas of the state. I have applied to every Admin Assistant, Clerical and Waitressing job I can find, but have not gotten ANY call backs. Is it my resume, or am I just an undesirable canidate because of my lack of experience? I don’t have ‘red flags’ in my background, and the same agency hired me back every summer during college to work. I cant work there anymore because they do not have the budget to provide me with a full time job. Can somebody help me? I am willing to do any job that does not involve children. I don’t want to do telemarketing, but if it will get me out of my parent’s house and into an apartment, then I will try.
Here is my resume

Skilled with computer systems and software.
Skilled at organizing complex projects, defining project priorities, and delegating tasks.

*The work experience listed above is all at one hospital local to me. A workforce center helped me compile that resume. For the most part I was like an ‘assistant’ who ended up doing pretty much anything. I was an extra pair of hands for whatever the normal hospital staff needed me to do.
To clarify: the position at the hospital above was direct hire. They advertised and I applied. After my first summer they offered me a job continuously. I never had to reapply for a position at the hospital.

My first summer was STRICTLY clerical: sorting, copying, file purging, setting up meetings, whatever the Director of Nursing needed me to do. I purged her office of 30+ years of outdated staff/patient files. Plus I edited my father’s first dissertation and am basically his secretary.

Isn’t illegal to sell human body fluids?

I’ve come accross more than one classified ad for women trying to sell their ****** milk. This one is the most recent I’ve seen. Isn’t it illegal to do this? I know there are ****** milk banks that provide this service but those are controlled and regulated. Who would buy some stranger’s breastmilk off a classified ad?

Feeling Uncomfortable Putting a Pet Ad online Craigslist Free to good home?

Other - Pets 4 Comments »
Christine & Michael S asked:

Hello,
I really could use some advice. Last week I rescued a dog from a kill shelter and posted her on craigslist . I received many inquiries (7 so far) each sending several emails asking different questions. I give all her info and my contact number then nothing.
I’m starting to feel uneasy. Like maybe they think I’m profitted off animals? Picking up strays then reselling? Maybe they want my phone number who knows????
Has anyone gone through this? Are there any red flags I should be aware of. I do not want to let her go if she’s not going to be cared for or if I have bad vibes about it.
Or am I just paranoid and don’t want to let her go? Go ahead, be honest.
Thanks for all your answers. They are very helpful. The longer we have her the harder it is to let her go. And in a way I hope it doesn’t go through.
I just wanted to be able to help another dog in desperate means. But I really don’t have much room to spare for anymore.

Finding a Job?

Financial Services 3 Comments »
Answer Girl 2007 asked:

I’m 23 years old and a senior in college. I will be graduating in December, taking a semester off and then going back to school for my master’s in Fall ‘08. Until then, I need to find a full time job, b/c I’m running out of money, in need of health insurance and I need to start saving for my student loans.

I’m not looking to do anything in my major, mainly b/c I need a masters to work in my field. Therefore, I’m just looking of a job as a administrative assistant, etc.

Would I benefit from submitting my resume to a headhunter (I believe that’s what you call them) or a company that specializes in finding people jobs/work? Should I just continue to look online and in the classified ads only?
