I am a recent college graduate, and I have been job hunting since May. I live in a rural area, so there are not any job openings near me. I have been using online search agents, as well as newspaper classified ads to apply for jobs in other areas of the state. I have applied to every Admin Assistant, Clerical and Waitressing job I can find, but have not gotten ANY call backs. *The work experience listed above is all at one hospital local to me. A workforce center helped me compile that resume. For the most part I was like an ‘assistant’ who ended up doing pretty much anything. I was an extra pair of hands for whatever the normal hospital staff needed me to do.
To clarify: the position at the hospital above was direct hire. They advertised and I applied. After my first summer they offered me a job continuously. I never had to reapply for a position at the hospital.

My first summer was STRICTLY clerical: sorting, copying, file purging, setting up meetings, whatever the Director of Nursing needed me to do. I purged her office of 30+ years of outdated staff/patient files. Plus I edited my father’s first dissertation and am basically his secretary.

I really could use some advice. Last week I rescued a dog from a kill shelter and posted her on craigslist . I received many inquiries (7 so far) each sending several emails asking different questions. I give all her info and my contact number then nothing.
